Mother Who Killed Daughter In Alleged Exorcism: “It Is What It Is”

CALIFORNIA- A woman who is facing charges in the death of her 3-year-old daughter during an alleged exorcism dismissed her tragic death by telling viewers “It is what it is” in a video she posted on YouTube.

Claudia Hernandez was arrested and charged with felony assault on a child resulting in death on Jan. 31, which was four months after her daughter’s death.

Arely Naomi Proctor died during an alleged exorcism that was held by the girl’s grandfather and pastor Rene Huezo, according to authorities.

In the video, which was posted by The Daily Beast, Hernandez showed no remorse whatsoever, days before her arrest, telling viewers “It is what it is, “I gotta be positive about the situation. You know, like at least she’s not suffering. Especially nowadays, like everything is just so bad, everything’s just going downhill, you know. That’s what I’m thankful for, that’s she’s not gonna grow up in that world, like in that world that we live in.”

Hernandez is accused of squeezing her daughter’s neck and attempting to put her finger down the girl’s throat to induce vomit during the alleged exorcism.

Hernandez and her grandfather believed the girl had demons inside of her.

Huezo, and Hernandez’ brother, who also took part in the ritual, haven’t been charged, police said and it’s unclear why.

Proctors’ death was ruled a homicide.
