MISSOURI- A pastor is accused of shooting and killing a man he accused of having an affair with his wife, police say.
Matthew Dedmon, 47, was arrested in connection to the death of Joe Newburn, 57, on Saturday, the Ozark Police Department said, reports Fox News.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting before 1 p.m. and found Newburn laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Dedmon drove his truck to meet his wife and found her in a car with Newurn, according to Ozarks First.
Dedmon allegedly grabbed a pistol, jumped out of his truck and confronted Newburn about the suspected affair before shooting him three times in the chest.
Newburn was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators found the gun used in the shooting inside of Dedmon’s truck.
Dedmon was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
