LAS VEGAS – A woman who was suing soccer player Christiano Ronaldo for $75 million after accusing him of rape had her case thrown out by a judge, reports The New York Post.
A U.S. District Judge threw out Kathryn Mayorga’s case, punishing the woman’s attorney, Leslie Mark Stovall, for “bad-faith conduct” and the use of “purloined” confidential docs that the judge said tainted the case, according to The Post.
Mayorga, a teacher turned model, accused Ronaldo of forcing himself on her and raping her in 2009 in a suite as they were partying with others.
Police opened an investigation up in 2018, but there were no charges brought against Ronaldo.
Ronaldo and Mayorga settled out of court in 2010. She was paid $375,000.
