UK – Rapper Lil Wayne was declined entry into the United Kingdom and will not be performing at a British music festival, reports Reuters.
Lil Wayne was set to perform at the Strawberries & Creem festival on Saturday.
Ludacris will now be taking his slot in the festival.
Festival organizers released a statement on Wednesday which read:
“Due to extreme circumstances beyond our control or influence, we are very sorry to inform you that Lil Wayne is now unable to perform at the festival on Saturday 18th June”, the statement read.
The statement continued, “Lil Wayne has been refused entry to the UK directly by the Home Office in a last minute decision. “We are deeply disappointed by this sudden and negative ruling. “We have received very minimal notice, and the timing of the decision is of course upsetting for all involved.”
This performance would’ve been Wayne’s UK performance in 14 years.
The rapper was pardoned by former president Donald Trump, after the rapper plead guilty to illegally possessing a loaded, gold-plated handgun when his jet landed in Miami in 2019.
He was facing 10 years in prison.
