A Minnesota couple has been indicted on murder charges for the death of their foster child. A jury indicted Sherrie Dirk, 33, and Bryce Dirk, 31, on 1st degree murder charges while committing child abuse, second degree murder while committing underlying felonies of neglect, malicious punishment and child endangerment. According to Kfgo.com, authorities were called to the couples home on Nov 6th because their 3 year old foster child was not breathing. Police say Sherrie Dirk had wrapped 3 blankets around the child and left the child unattended for hours before police were called and the found child unresponsive. Police say she had a blanket wrapped around her neck, was found severely dehydrated and severely underweight for her age. Police removed the other children in the home and the district attorney’s office filed a Child in Need Of Protection and Safety petition to protect the other children who are now in protective care.
