LOS ANGELES- Eric Holder Jr. was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of rapper Nipsey Hussle Wednesday.
Holder Jr. is facing life in prison for killing the rapper on March 31, 2019.
According to The New York Times, the verdict came after the jury deliberated for less than an hour.
Nipsey Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Davidson, was outside of his clothing store in 2019, when Holder Jr. walked up to the rapper. The men got into an argument, and Holder Jr. became upset after Hussle called him a “snitch”.
Holder left but returned later and fired as many as 10 shots at Nipsey Hussle’s head and back. He then kicked the 33-year-old rapper in the head as he struggled on the floor.
Holder also injured two other people.
USA TODAY says Holder’s lawyers asked the jury to convict him of voluntary manslaughter instead of murder.
