Police have charged a 22-year-old suspect with murder in connection to the death of a missing student whose body hasn’t been found, police said.
Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr. was identified as the suspect by Oxford police.
Police say 20-year-old Jimmie ‘Jay’ Lee was last seen on July 8 leaving the Campus Walk Apartments at Ole Miss around 6 a.m., Oxford police said. Lee was last seen wearing a “silver robe or housecoat” with gray slippers and a gold sleeping cap, according to local reports.
A tow company removed Lee’s car from an apartment complex later that day. Polic recovered it at the tow yard and brought it in to the state crime lab for processing.
