LOUISIANA- Rapper JayDaYoungan has died after he was shot and killed Wednesday night outside of his home in Louisiana.
The 24-year-old was shot along with his father, Kenyatta Scott Sr., according to Bogalusa Police Department.
JayDaYoungan was rushed to a hospital and died just before midnight.
His father remains in stable condition.
Another shooting occurred about 30 minutes after the one involving the troubled rapper. Police have reportedly said that the shootings were linked.
The rapper was out on $175,000 bond at the time of his death after being arrested in September 2021, on suspicion of being an accessory to second-degree murder.
He was sentenced to five years in jail for the gun charges but was released last month and credited with time served.
JayDaYoungan signed with Atlantic Records in 2017. His songs “Spinning” and “Taking Off” gained him popularity.
He also has many collabs with other rappers who included Lil Durk, MoneybaggYo and more.
He leaves behind a young son.
