CALIFORNIA- Rapper Mozzy has begun his 12-month sentence in federal prison after being indicted by a federal grand jury on a weapons possession charge in 2021.
The rapper, whose real name is Timothy Cornell Patterson, plead guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. In addition to his year long sentence, the California rapper also paid a $55,000 fine, according to reports.
A representative for the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to Pitchfork that Patterson began his 12-month sentence on July 28.
Mozzy was featured on the ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack, which was produced by Kendrick Lamar.
He’s worked with artists like YG, Roddy Ricch and EST Gee. He dropped his new album tilted ‘Survivor’s Guilt’ last week.
