Nappy Roots Rapper Fish Scales Robbed At Gunpoint, Kidnapped And Shot

ATLANTA- Nappy Roots member, rapper Fish Scales, was robbed at gunpoint and kidnapped outside of his brewery, Atlanta police said.

Atlanta police said they responded to a report of a robbery about 11 p.m. on Wednesday and found a 42-year-old male victim who said he was a patron of Atlantucky Brewery, according to reports.

He told police that he and the brewery’s owner, later identified as rapper Fish Scales from the group Nappy Roots, were robbed at gunpoint by two men as they were walking to the establishment’s parking garage.

He said he fled on foot, but Fish Scales was kidnapped.

The rapper was reportedly beaten and forced into his own vehicle while the suspects drove him to the town of Hapeville, according to WSBTV. He attempted to flee and was shot in his leg.

Fish Scales suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is currently recovering.

Nappy Roots are known for their hit “Po’ Folks, and “Awnaw.”

Police have made no arrests and are searching for the two suspects.
