A U.S. Navy lieutenant has been charged in the death of his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
Emmanuel Dewayne Coble, 27, has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of murder.
Raquiah Paulette King, 20, was found on the side of a road in a ditch line on July 20. She had been fatally shot.
She was three months pregnant at the time of her death, according to multiple reports.
King and Coble were in a relationship at the time of her death.
According to a GoFundMe set up by King’s family, Coble allegedly killed her because she refused to get an abortion.
The GoFundMe page says Raquiah met a young man and moved to Virginia to live with him while he was pursuing a career. The two fell in love and conceived a child but “while in the womb of Raquiah, the father changed his mind about having a baby and forced Raquiah to have an abortion, which she refused.”
Prosecutors are looking in to pressing more charges in connection to the death of the fetus.
