CONEY ISLAND, BROOKLYN- The bodies of three children were found at Brooklyn’s famed boardwalk Monday morning.
The bodies of a 7-year-old boy, a 4-year-old girl and a 3-month-old girl were found after police received a call from a concerned relative who believed their mother was going to drown them, reports Metro.
Police began a three-hour search for the children, using marine units and helicopters. Their bodies were found at the water’s edge around 4:30 a.m., according to the outlet.
The children’s mother, whose identity is being withheld, was found by police about 2 miles down the boardwalk, almost two hour later drenched in water and barefoot.
Police say the mother hasn’t been cooperative with authorities.
