Man Who Sued Over Alleged ‘Baby Shark’ Torture Dies Inside Jail

A man who filed a lawsuit against Oklahoma County jail over the alleged abuse he endured which included listening to ‘Baby Shark’ was found dead inside of the jail Sunday, reports KFOR.

John Basco was arrested Thursday and was found dead on Sunday.

His family and attorneys are now demanding answers, reports the news outlet.

According to jail officials, Basco, 48, was arrested on drug trafficking charges and carrying or possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

According to KFOR, Basco’s brother said his brother was healthy when he entered the jail and he had even spoke to him prior to his death.

Basco and other inmates sued Oklahoma County jail in 2019, claiming jail officers pulled them out of their cells in the middle of the night, handcuffed them and forced them to listen to the children’s song ‘Baby Shark’ for sometimes hours at a time.

Two former detention officers and their supervisor were charged, and all three eventually quit or resigned.
