HOUSTON- Rapper Lotta Cash Desto was shot and killed after shooting at two men who opened fire on her, according to court documents.
Lotta Cash Desto, whose real name is Destinee Govan, was fatally shot on Sept. 24.
A witness who was riding with Govan on the night of the shooting, told police that the 2 men approached their car and opened fire, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Govan grabbed her gun and shot back in self-defense, striking one suspect, Christian Ishiah Williams, in the stomach, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Williams shot Govan in the head. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Police found him after following a trial of his blood from Govan’s car to a parking lot.
Williams, 24, was charged with Govan’s murder.
The passenger who was riding with Govan suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Williams has a lengthy criminal record that includes murder.
