BROOKLYN, NYC- A mother accused of drowning three of her children on Coney Island has been indicted on murder charges.
Erin Merdy, 30, was arraigned before a Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice on an indictment which charges her with three counts of first-degree murder and nine counts of second-degree murder, according to Fox News.
Merdy is accused of taking her three children, Zachary Merdy, 7, Liliana Stephens Merdy, 4, and Oliver Bondarev, 3 months, to the beach at West 35th St. in Coney Island and drowned them.
A concerned family member called 911 and told them Merdy had been missing and told them that she had “hurt” her children they were “gone”.
Police found the children, who were unresponsive and drenched in water near the shoreline. They were later pronounced dead.
