Ex-NBA Player Ben Gordon Charged, Son Had Order Of Protection Against Him Before Alleged Assault

Former NBA player Ben Gordon is facing assault charges after he allegedly assaulted his teenage son at an airport.

The incident happened Monday at LaGuardia Airport.

According to reports, witnesses, including an American Airlines employee say they saw Gordon yelling at his son before he allegedly punched him several times in the face after he dropped his book on the ground.

Gordan allegedly assaulted police when they attempted to arrest him.

At an arraignment on Tuesday, Gordon was charged with assault, child endangerment and contempt, resisting arrest and other charges.

Gordon will return to court on Friday.

According to a criminal complaint, Gordon’s son has an order of protection against from 2018 which forbids Gordon from “committing physical abuse, harassment, or the interference with personal liberty.” It also prohibits him from removing his son from Illinois.
