LOS ANGELES- Singer, rapper Tory Lanez has been ordered to be placed on house arrest and electronic monitoring by Friday as he awaits his upcoming trial on charges that he allegedly shot rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
The decision was made by a Los Angeles judge on Wednesday.
Superior Court Judge David Herriford rejected the prosecutions motion, which was seeking to have Tory Lanez taken into custody with no bail after he allegedly attacked a man in Chicago last month, reports Fox La.
Tory’s defense team argued that there isn’t sufficient evidence to prove that a battery had occurred.
The singer, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is facing one count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
He’s also being accused of personally using a firearm and inflicting great bodily injury. His trial begins Nov. 28.
