NYC- Rapper Hurricane G has died at 54.
The NYC trailblazing rapper, whose real name is Gloria Rodriguez was diagnosed in May of stage 4 lung cancer, according to her daughter who revealed the news on social media.
But there is no cause of death.
Her death was confirmed by her associates and her ex, rapper Erick Semon, who shares a daughter with Rodriguez.
He posted a tribute to her on his Instagram Monday:
“My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends…. my oldest daughter mother passed away today #HURRICANE GLORIA was also a legend in her own right in the Hiphop community. One of the first puertorican female rappers She rapped with me. @redmangilla she paved the way.”

Hurricane made a name for herself in HipHop being Puerto Rican and a female MC.
She made her debut as a member of the Def Squad. She went on to be featured in Redman’s 1992 hit song “Tonight’s The Night.”
In 1997, Hurricane G released her debut album “All Woman”. Her single “Somebody Else” from the album went on to reach the top 10 of of the hot Rap singles chart that year.
She also released her album “Mami & Papi” in 2013.
