Rapper DaBaby will not have to be deposed by an alleged victim in an assault case until after the criminal case is resolved, according to Radar Online.
According to court documents obtained by Radaroniline.com, a judge ruled that the troubled rapper will not have to sit through a deposition for the case, and that’s for now.
The judge said DaBaby, will not have to answer questions under oath but he will have to present certain documents that are being requested by the alleged victim.
The rapper’s legal team has requested to put the deposition on hold, until his criminal case, which is related to the same incident, is resolved.
DaBaby claims that he if didn’t avoid the deposition, he would’ve invoked the fifth amendment.
The victim, Gary Pager, sued the rapper for allegedly assaulting him back in 2020 after he rented his property out to the rapper.
Pager claims in the lawsuit that his agreement with the rapper for the property stated there could be no more than 12 people at the property but found out that the rapper was filming a music video with more than 40 people.
Pager decided to show up at his property to speak with DaBaby in the middle of a shoot, but things turned physical after Pager told the people and was spit on.
