MINNESOTA- A teen was allegedly shot and killed over a pair of Balenciaga sneakers and now police have charged a teen suspect.
Police said 17-year-old Yaseen Johnson, and his friend were waiting in an SUV outside of an apartment complex on Nov. 14 to buy the sneakers from Sirleaf and two other males, reports KARE 11.
Sirleaf got into the back of the SUV and allegedly gave Johnson one of the sneakers, taking half of the cash from him as he looked the sneakers over, police said.
Johnson agreed to buy the sneakers when Sirleaf allegedly demanded that he hand the sneakers back to him and pulled a gun out when Johnson refused.
That’s when Sirleaf allegedly shot Johnson.
Police arrived at the scene, finding the sneakers outside of the SUV, along with .40 caliber casings.
One of the three suspects arrested by police, told them that Sirleaf had told them to drive to the scene so he could rob Johnson.
Sirleaf was charged with second-degree murder.
The driver hasn’t been charged, and police are still searching for the third suspect.
