Award-winning singer Irene Cara has died at. She was 63.
The singer was known for her 80’s hit song “Fame” and “Flashdance…What a Feeling.”
A statement was posted Saturday on the singer’s official Twitter account by her publicist.
The tweet read:
“It is with profound sadness that on behalf of her family I announce the passing of Irene Cara, the statement read.
“The Academy Award winning actress, singer, songwriter, and producer passed away in her Florida home. Her cause of death is currently unknown and will be released when information is available.”

It added that her has “requested privacy” at this time.
