LOS ANGELES- The man charged with attacking comedian Dave Chappelle while on stage has been sentenced to serve 270 days in jail.
Isaiah Lee, 24, pleaded no contest to assault and entering a restricted area charge, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, according to local reports.
He avoided a felony because he wasn’t carrying a real gun.
Police said Lee was carrying a replica gun and a knife when he rushed the stage as the comedian was performing a stand-up special on May 3 in at the Hollywood Bowl.
Lee said he attacked Chappelle because he’s bi-sexual and the comedian had angered him after making joke about those in the LGBTQ community.
A no contest plea does not require an admission of guilt but still results in a conviction.
Lee is awaiting trial for an attempted murder charge after stabbing his roommate in 2021.
