Man Allegedly Robs Starbucks After Store Refused To Give Wife $1.25 Refund

OKLAHOMA- A man is accused of robbing a Starbucks after the store refused to give his wife a refund of just $1.25, police say.

Richard Engle, 61, went to the Starbucks Sunday with his wife, according to KOKH.

Engle’s wife asked the staff for a refund for her drink she had purchased for $1.25, but the store refused to give her the refund and was told to call the corporate office, Fox Station KOKH.

The woman reportedly left the store and returned with her husband.

Engle asked the staff for the refund on behalf of his wife, but one of the employees turned their back on him, which clearly made him upset.

He allegedly took money from a tip jar that was on the counter, police said.

Engle stole $1 from the tip money, police said.

As Engle walked out, an employee followed him, and took a photo of his license plate. As the employee was doing this, Engle backed his vehicle into the employee several times.

Engle was arrested and charged with robbery and assault.
