DENVER, Colorado: A 16 year old girl who was charged as an adult for the murder of her 7 year old nephew is seeking to go back Juvenile court.
16 year old Jennie Bunsom’s legal team argued for 5 days during a preliminary hearing in court to have Bunsom’s case transferred back to Juvenile court, so that her adult charges can be dropped.
Bunsom was arrested on August 14 after an extensive search for 7 year old Jordan Vong ended with his body being found “intentionally concealed” in a portable closet in her basement.
Vong’s body was found with a comforter and towel wrapped around his face.
Vong was reported missing on Aug 6.
According to court documents, Bunsom was arguing with a girlfriend on Aug 6, when her nephew came into the room wanting to play video games. Bunsom told Vong to leave the room and when he refused to do so, she pushed him off of a bed where he fell hitting his face on the floor.
Instead of seeking medical attention for her nephew, as he began to cry from the pain he endured from hitting his face, court documents state Bunsom put her hand over his mouth and plugged his nose with her finger until Vong stopped moving.
She allegedly then wrapped his body up and hid him inside of her basement.
Bunsom has been charged with 2 counts of 1st degree murder after deliberation and there has been no bail set for her.
It’s in my opinion that if a 16 year old girl covered in tattoos who clearly wants to be an adult, and calculated this horrible murder of her 7 year old nephew, she should be charged as an adult.
