Judge Sets Tory Lanez Sentencing Date In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting After Singer Hires New Attorneys

LOS ANGELES- A judge has set a new sentencing date for rapper/singer Tory Lanez since being convicted of assault and other charges.

A judge set the sentencing date of Feb. 28.

One of Tory’s new attorney, David E. Kenner, told the Superior Court judge that he’s waiting for copies of transcripts from last month trial so the singers defense could prepare a motion for a new trial for the singer, according to FOX11 LA.

Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, recently dropped his former defense team.

Lanez has been in jail since he was convicted on Dec. 23 of one felony count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in the vehicle.

The Canadian singer is facing up to 22 years in prison.

Tory allegedly shot rapper Megan Thee Stallion in her foot after the two got into an argument inside of the vehicle they were in after leaving Kylie Jenner’s house party in the Hollywood Hills.
