FLORIDA- A judge has warned Drake to appear for a deposition, or else he’ll be charged with a contempt charge, according to a report.
The rapper/singer whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, was ordered by Broward Circuit Judge Michael Usan to appear via Zoom on Feb. 24 for a deposition, court records show, reports the Miami Herald.
Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome and Dedrick Williams, are all currently on trial for the robbery and the murder of XXXTentacion.
Drake has not been charged in connection to the death of XXXTentacion, but must appear for the deposition after being named on the witness list in December, according to the Miami-Herald.
The defense team for the suspects suggested that Drake may have some involvement in the Florida rapper’s death since they did have beef (over a song). The defense also said investigators from the Los Angeles Police Dept. should have conducted a probe into their feud.
They also pointed out an old post that XXXTentacion posted on his Instagram story which said that if something happened to him, it would be Drake’s fault.
But, the two squashed their feud before XXXTentacion died.
