Rapper French Montana Sued Over Shooting At Video Shoot In Miami

MIAMI- Rapper French Montana is being sued for a shooting that occurred during the making of a video he was in.

The lawsuit stems from when the Bronx rapper was celebrating the release of his mixtape at a Miami restaurant and was filming a music video for his song “Igloo” with rapper Rob49 before gunfire erupted back in Jan.

Rob49 was shot, along with nine other people.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, French was filming the video with Rob49 Miami Gardens when he ordered the move to the restaurant after a robbery had occurred across the street.The plaintiff, Carl Leon, says he was asked to be an extra in the music video and was present along with about 80 others who included crew members, according to TMZ.

Leon claims in the suit that an “unknown individual caused severe injury to multiple people, including the Plaintiff.

The plaintiff goes on to say that Miami police investigated, and allegedly concluded that French had failed to secure the necessary permits required by the city to ensure that the set was safe and secure with the presence of police.French’s record label, Coke Boys, and the restaurant have been named as defendants in the lawsuit.

French’s rep, Ted Anastasiou, told TMZ:’Carl Leon was never invited to the restaurant at the night of the incident. His interest in litigation is solely to exploit and benefit financially from it, and his re-imagining of his invitation and current statements are simply an egregious profit play and publicity stunt.”

French has also told TMZ that he wasn’t at the location to film a video. He said he just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
