MAINE- A man was arrested after having a package containing around $3 million of fentanyl sent to a restaurant, police said.
Employees at the Mac’s Grill were expecting a shipment of new mugs when they opened a wooden crate and were shocked after discovering a plastic tote inside containing 31 pounds of fentanyl in bricks, WMTW reports.
The package was addressed to “Jeremy Mercier” at the restaurants address, but there were no employees working with that name.
Police soon arrested Mercier, 41, when he arrived at the Grill to ask about the package.
He faces multiple charges, including aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, aggravated illegal importation and violation of conditional release.
