Tory Lanez’s Motion For New Trial Is Denied By Judge

LOS ANGELES- Singer Tory Lanez’s motion for a new trial was denied Tuesday.

The rapper’s motion was filed by his new legal team on March 29, according to Rolling Stone. Judge David Herriford issued the ruling on Tuesday.

Tory’s lawyers went as far as motioning to disqualify the judge from the case, but he still made his ruling, according to Los Angeles Times reporter James Queally.

In the motion for a new trial, Tory’s lawyers Jose Baez and Matthew Barhoma said the judge “erroneously allowed” for jurors to view a comment on Instagram from the singer’s account that refuted claims that Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend, Kelly Harris was the shooter.

The filing also included a declaration from Tory’s associate Joshua Farias, who claimed that he was the one who posted the comment.

Lanez as indicted on three felony charges on December 23. he faces up to 22 years in prison when he’s sentenced.
