Bond Set For Man Accused Of Killing Young Dolph

MEMPHIS- A bond has been set for the man accused of killing rapper Young Dolph.

Govan was being held at the Shelby County Court on Thursday for the bond hearing, and his bond was lowered to $90,000, according to WATN Memphis.

The court motion filed for Govan on Thursday states that the bond lowering was agreed upon by both prosecutors and Govan’s defense attorneys, the outlet reports.

The bond lowering was done for Govan’s medical reasons and the state of Memphis for “more clear defining the role Govan played in the conspiracy to kill Young Dolph.”

Govan is facing charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree and attempted murder.

Govan’s lawyers claim their client had nothing to do with the rapper’s death.

The two other suspects, Justin Johnson, 24, and Cornelius Smith, 32, were indicted in Jan. of 2022 on charges of first-degree murder, criminal attempted first-degree murder, unlawful carrying and possession of a firearm, employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony and theft of property.

Young Dolph was killed down on November 17, 2022, inside of Makeda’s Cookies in Memphis when two men jumped out of a stolen Mercedes-Benz and opened fire on him.
