Friends And Family Attend Rapper Big Pokey’s Funeral In Houston

HOUSTON- Friends and family gathered over the weekend to celebrate the life of rapper Big Pokey.

Big Pokey, whose real name is Milton Powell, died on June 18 after collapsing during a performance at a venue, east of Houston. He was 48.

The service for Pokey was held on Saturday at the Fountain of Praise church in Houston, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Other rappers like Trae Tha Truth, Slim Thug, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Paul Wall and many others showed up at the service to pay their respects.

Big Pokey was an original member of the pioneering group Screwed Up Click.

He was known for his hits “Who Dat Talking Down”, “Ball N’ Parlay” and most recently, he was featured on Megan Thee Stallion’s 2022 “Southside Royalty Freestyle.”

There is no official cause of death.
