NYC- Houston Rocket’s basketball player Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested Monday morning after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend inside of a Manhattan hotel.
Porter Jr., 23, is facing two felony charges for assault and strangulation, according to the NYPD.
His girlfriend has been identified as WNBA star Kysre Gondrezick.
The victim had a laceration on the right side of her face and was taken to the Hospital in stable condition. A spokesperson for the NYPD told PEOPLE that Porter Jr. “struck her multiple times about the body and placed his hands around her neck.”
Porter Jr. is still in custody and has been transferred for booking while he awaits arraignment.
