Six Alleged Gang Members In Rapper FBG Duck’s Murder To Stand Trial

CHICAGO – Six alleged Chicago gang members will stand trial for their roles in the killing of rapper FBG Duck, who was shot and killed in 2020.

The Chicago rapper, born Carlton Weekly, was shot 16 times in broad daylight as he was shopping at Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood while shopping for his son’s birthday.

An alleged member of the O-Block street gang and a rival of FBG Duck, Ralph Turpin, saw the rapper and called on members of his gang, allegedly urging them to kill him while he was in the area, according to court documents obtained by the Chicago Tribune.

Shortly afterwards, four gunmen opened fire on the rapper, firing 38 shots, 16 of them striking and killing FBG in front of a Dolce & Gabbana store. A woman who was with him and a bystander were also wounded.

The aftermath was captured on cellphone footage, showing the rapper bleeding to death on the pavement as he was still moving and alive.

Turpin allegedly sent a text message after the shooting with three laughing emojis to a woman who shares a child with.

Turpin, 34, and five other members of O-Block are now facing trial in U.S. District Court. They have been charged with conspiring to murder Weekly as part of a “criminal racketeering enterprise,” the Tribune reported.

If convicted, each defendant could be sentenced to life in prison.

FBG Duck reportedly had a $100,000 bounty on his head.
