Cause Of Death Revealed For L.A. Model Whose Family Suspected Foul Play

LOS ANGELES – A cause of death has been revealed for a model who was found dead days after another model died just a few miles away.

Nichole “Nikki” Coats died from an accidental overdose of cocaine and alcohol, according to the medical examiner.

The 32-year-old was found dead inside of her apartment on Sept. 10, just two days before another aspiring model was found dead from “homicidal violence” several miles away.

Coats’ family had feared that she was murdered.

The Los Angeles County Dept. of Medical Examiner ruled her death an “accident” Tuesday, according to reports.

Her cause of death was listed as “cocaine and ethanol toxicity,” The Post reported.

Coats’ death sparked outrage in her neighborhood, after another aspiring model, Malessa Mooney, 31, was found also found dead in her apartment. Many believed there was a serial killer in the area who was targeting models.
