MAINE – At least 22 people were killed and about 60 wounded Wednesday in mass shootings across Lewiston, Maine, according to police.
Maine State Police reported there being one active shooter on Wednesday night on social media and released photos of the suspected sooter to the public but didn’t provide details.
“There is an active shooter in Lewiston,” Maine police said on the social media platform X. ‘We asl people to shelter in place. Please stay inside your home with the doors locked. Law enforcement is currently investigating at multiple locations.”
Police reported shootings at three separate businesses: A Walmart distribution center, Sparetime Recreation and Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant.
