Skeletal Remains Found ID’d As Missing NY Man Who Traveled To Virginia To Meet Female Acquaintance

VIRGINIA – A missing New York man who was reported missing after traveling to Virginia has been found dead.

According to a press release by the Spotsylvania Police Department, medical examiners have identified the skeletal remains as those belonging to 33-year-old Terrence Smith.

Smith was reported missing after traveling from New York to Spotsylvania on Oct. 28 to visit a female acquaintance, according to the release.

The unidentified female acquaintance reported him missing to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 1, after his family said he “had not returned to New York and they had not heard from him.”

After a detective used Smith’s whereabouts and phone records to investigate, his remains were found on Nov. 16, “not far from the home of the female acquaintance in the area of Timber Ridge Townhomes.”

His family also discovered that his bank account had been cleared out in Virginia.

There is no official cause of death and detectives are still investigating his death.
