NEW YORK – Rapper G-Dep, who was signed to Sean “Diddy” Combs Bad Boy Records has been granted conditional clemency after turning himself in to face a murder charge.
The rapper, whose real name is Trevell Coleman, turned himself in to the NYPD in 2010 for a murder he committed two decades before. He confessed to shooting and killing a man during an attempted robbery in 1993, and said his remorse and guilt led to his confession.
Coleman was then charged with second-degree murder, and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
He’s set to go before a parole a board in the Spring. At that time, he will be granted conditional clemency due to him confessing to the murder.
