QUEENS, NYC – A woman is dead after she was shot in the head as she sat in a parked car and a man was left injured Tuesday night.
The two victims were in a black Honda sedan near 127th Street and Liberty Ave. on the South Richmond Hill section of Queens when three men approached the car and shots were fired as seen on video surveillance, according to the NYPD.
Clarisa Burgos, 28, was shot in the head and a 39-year-old man was struck several times in his torso.
Video footage shows when three gunmen fired shots into the car. The men wore black hoodies as they walked across Liberty Avenue near 127th Street as a third man was seen walking back and forth before they all approached the car and opened fire.
Burgos was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male victim drove more than 2 miles to a near-by precinct and told officers he had been shot, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said Burgos, who leaves a young child behind, was not the intended target.
There have been no arrests and police are investigating.
