MISSOURI – A woman has been charged after she placed her one-month-old baby inside of an oven, claiming she mistook it for a crib.
Mariah Thomas’s baby was found burnt and not breathing Friday, police said.
The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thomas told police that she was putting her child down for a nap, and “accidentally” placed the child in an oven “instead of the crib,”, according to The Guardian.
Thomas was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and for death of a child.
