Felon Charged In The Murder Of Aspiring Model Found Dead Inside L.A. Home

LOS ANGELES – A convicted felon was arrested was arrested Wednesday in the murder of a Los Angeles aspiring model was found dead in her luxury apartment.

Malessa Mooney, sister of Guyanese popstar Jourdin Pauline, was found dead on Sept. 12, 2023, after the LAPD conducted a welfare check.

Her body was found stuffed inside of a refrigerator. Her mouth was gagged, and her ankles and hands were bound together.

Magnus Daniel Humphrey was picked up by police at his home in Minnesota on an unrelated warrant. He was then identified as the “suspect responsible” for Mooney’s brutal murder.

Humphrey will be extradited back to Los Angeles to face murder charges.

He was previously convicted of several felonies in Minnesota and Illinois that included sexual assault, false imprisonment, assaults, gun charges and more.

The relationship between Mooney and Humphrey is unclear.

Mooney had moved into her home just a month before she was killed. She had been working as real estate agent.
