CALIFORNIA – A woman stole an Amazon delivery van because she just “needed to get back to San Jose”, police said.
The incident happened Thursday around 3:35 p.m. in the 400 block of West Charleston Road when an Amazon driver left the car parked with the keys in the ignition and the engine running as he was making a delivery.
Police tracked the stolen van back to an Amazon facility in San Jose.
While there, police arrested 36-year-old Elena Flores and she was taken into custody.
There were no reported stolen packages.
Flores told police that she was in a rush to get back to San Jose.
She was charged with vehicle theft, a felony, and committing a felony while out on bail for a felony, another felony.
