A woman & a man in Louisiana have been charged with murder after throwing their baby in the trash.
According to WVLG, Thelma Kirkland and the baby’s father Carl Hall were arrested in February, and charged with first-degree murder after first responders found the couples baby alive in the trash.
The baby was put on life support and after dying, the parent’s charges were upgraded to first degree murder.
Kirkland’s mental status was questioned, but after 3 different psych evaluations, they couldn’t find if she was fit for trial so the judge decided that she was in fact competent.
Hall was indicted by a jury in June for first-degree murder and his trial is set for 2019.
As for Kirkland, her trial date has not been set or released yet.
