FLORIDA – A private school principal has been arrested and charged after he allegedly attacked a student for an hour.
33-year-old Dontay “Donnie” Akeem Prophet, principal of the Destiny Leadership Academy, was arrested on May 11, and charged with aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment of a child under the age of 13.

Police say surveillance footage from the classroom, allegedly shows Prophet smacking the boy in his face and on the side of his head with a computer charger before picking him up and throwing him on the floor.
He also restrained the boy on the ground while using a chokehold. Prophet is also accused of twisting the child’s ankle and slapping him in the face.
The alleged abuse went on from 11:34 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.
He was taken into custody, where he was held without bail.
Prophet was arrested in 2019 for molestation charges that stemmed from 2017, so it’s unclear how he was able to work with children.
He has since been fired from the school.
