According to Mypalmbeachpost.com, 20 year old Mike Cadet was found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2005 killing of Michael Sears who Cadet shot to death over a $10 marijuana debt.
Prosecutors argued that Sear’s murder was premeditated, but Cadet testified saying that it was self-defense. Cadet said that Sears became upset with him after he asked him about the $10 he owed him for Marijuana. Cadet also told the court that he feared for his life.
Palm Beach authorities say that Cadet shot Sears to death on August 28, 2015 when Sears arrived at Cadets home. Cadet shot Sears 4 times. Autopsy reports show that Sear’s was shot by Cadet in the head, jaw, torso and shoulder with his handgun while inside of Sears’ truck.

Cadet then drove to a local pond with his then-girlfriend Kaitlyn Tucciarone in Sears’ truck, stole Sears’ jewelry and then dumped his body.
Sears’ wife was searching for her husband on Aug 29, when she found his truck parked at a community pool. Sears’ body was later found floating in the pond on Sept 4, 2015.
Cadets then girlfriend Tucciarone, who is the daughter of a Palm Beach county sheriff’s deputy was later arrested along with Cadets brother who helped Cadet by disposing of his bloody clothes and the gun. Both were arrested and charged with being accessories after the fact.
