Trump Wounded After Attempted Assassination, Suspect Killed

PENNSYLANIA – Former President Donald Trump was the target of an attempted assassination Saturday.

Trump was giving a speech at a Pennsylvania rally when a man allegedly targeted him from a rooftop, and opened fire, shooting at him and grazing his ear, which left him bloody.

The shooter identified as 20-year-old Thomas Mattthew Crooks, used an AR-style 566 rifle which belonged to his father, police said.

He allegedly had bombs in his vehicle and home.

Buttler Township Officers had received calls about a suspicious man on a rooftop, but there were no reports of him with a gun.

Crooks was reportedly a registered Republican and was said to have been bullied in school on a regular basis.

Trump was treated for his injuries and is expected to live. Police don’t have a motive for the shooting.
