A man in Dallas, Texas has been found guilty by a grand jury and sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a 4 year old Leiliana Wright.
According to Fox4news, prosecutors say Phifer tortured his then girlfriends 4 year old daughter by tying her up in a closet, throwing her against walls, sexually abusing her and beating her with a belt.
The girls mother who’s name is Jeri Quezada, a heroin addict, testified against her ex-boyfriend saying she that when she had came home from a family dinner, she found Leilana in the closet. She told the court that even though she was high on heroin, she does remember Phifer picking her daughter up by the throat and throwing her.

Phifer’s legal team tried to put the blame on Quezada but it didn’t work, even though she was sentenced to 50 years in prison for injury to a child. Her time was reduced due to her plea deal.
Phifer waived his right to testify in court, showing no remorse according to reports.
The girls father said that he reported bruises that he seen on his daughter to CPS before she was murdered.
A caseworker and supervisor who worked on Leiliana’s case were fired and an investigator resigned.
The judge reportedly told Phifer “Life in prison seems insufficient,” the judge added “Hanging a little girl in a closet is savage. You should die in a locked closet.”
