NYC – The man accused of killing rapper Chinx in 2015 was sentenced Monday.
Quincy Homere, who plead guilty to the rapper’s killing was sentenced to serve 23 years in prison, according to Fox5 New York.
Homere was envious of the rapper who he was once jailed with.
Chinx’s wife told Fox5 that she cried as the Homere’s sentencing was handed down to him and stared at him throughout the court proceeding.
Chinx, whose real name is Lionel Pickens Jr, was driving his car, with a male passenger as he was leaving a club in Queens in May 2015 after a performance during the early morning hours. After stopping at a red light, Homere opened fire on the car, and then fled the scene.
Pickens died from multiple gunshot wounds and his passenger, who goes by “Yemen Cheese” survived.
Chinx was signed to rapper French Montana’s Coke Boys and was making a name for himself in the rap industry.
