Man Used Fentanyl To Murder Girlfriend, Her 2 Kids

A woman who was found dead with her two children inside of bags died from fentanyl toxicity, according to autopsy reports.

Benjamin Joseph Taylor, 34, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and concealment of/failure to report death. He is accused of killing his girlfriend, Markayla Johnson, 22, and her two children, 4-year-old Miracle Johnson and 7-month-old Messiah Johnson in Charlotte.

Autopsies revealed that Johnson had “very high level of fentanyl” and the presence of the opioid-reversal naloxone. Medical examiners also found fentanyl in Miracle’s blood with small bruises around her mouth and jaw that are made from “when an adult hand grabs tightly or squeezes, according to Law And Crime.

On March 5, police and family knocked on her door, but no one answered the door. A maintenance worker attempted to open the door, but the safety chain was on. On March 6, police captured Taylor leaving to another state on a bus.

Finally, on March 15, police entered Johnson’s home with a warrant and found her body inside of a plastic bin with garbage bags over her head with cords around her neck and diapers covering her face.

Miracle and Messiah were found dead inside of Johnson’s car wrapped in plastic bags in in gym bags. The little girl had her wrists bound and diapers on her face. Messiah was wrapped in a blanket.

Taylor and Johnson were “dating” and he was not the father of the children.

It’s unclear why he murdered the victims.
