A 10 year old girl from Wisconsin is being charged with first-degree intentional homicide after authorities say she stomped a baby to death at a daycare.
According to (ABC13), first responders were called on Oct, 31st to a daycare center. When they arrived, they found a baby boy unresponsive, bleeding from the head. They immediately took the baby to the hospital, where he died on November 1st.
The Chippewa county sheriff told WEAU that his department later received a call from doctors who said that the injuries that the 6 month old baby sustained were not accidental.
After investigators interviewed four people at the Daycare including the 10 year old, who confessed to her involvement. The girl lived at the licensed daycare with her foster parents.
The sheriff said that the girl had admitted to dropping the baby, who then fell hitting his head on a footstool and began crying. The girl told investigators she had panicked and stomped on the baby’s head.
She appeared in adult court with her birth parents, handcuffed with chains around her waist. Her bond has been set at $50,000.
It’s not clear why the girl was removed from her parents home and put into foster care.
