HOUSTON (AP) A father from Houston has been charged with child abandonment after his 6 year old daughter strangled her 1 year old brother to death with a seat belt after they were left alone in a car.
Adrian Dreshuan Middleton was charged on Friday with the May 20th death of his son. A criminal complaint states that 26 year old Middleton told investigators he left both of his children parked outside of a thrift store with the air conditioner on, water, snacks and a movie to watch, as he went shopping for clothes.
Surveillance video shows that Middleton was shopping in the store for over an hour. When he returned to his car, that’s when he found his 6 year old daughter crying in the backseat. She had told investigators that she got angry at her 1 year old brother because he wouldn’t stop crying and that’s when she took a seatbelt, strangling him to death. She had thought that had fallen asleep.
